After many years of aerobics, I have to say, "I just love it." What more can I say? I know people have called me crazy for loving that sweat-til-you-drop mentality, but I have always enjoyed the challenge of pumping my feet and heart to the pumping beat. What is so good about it? Everything, absolutely everything. You are in a group of your peers and if you have one ounce of competition in your blood or personal pride, you are not going to "not-to-it" because everyone can see you in "those" mirrors, can't they? That's half the battle, is beginning to see yourself as others see you. If it is not pleasing, this is the place to take care of it. Most aerobic instructors are caring and fun-loving (not all!) by nature, and love prod you on to do YOUR personal best. What are the results? Before you know it, the class is over and you have worked up to a wonderful sweat, alongside some of the best, and when you walk out of that class, you just KNOW that you have spent some worthwhile ME time, (time for you to exercise) because that is the one that benefits the most. Mostly, the part of you that gets the best kick out of this, is your heart. Did you know that the physical organ called the heart actually grows in size just as your other bodily organs do, when presented with physical work. So, if you have a "fit" heart, you actually have a "bigger" heart than those around you. And in the end, especially towards the end of your life, you will NEVER regret spending the time to make aerobics a part of your routine to get "back into shape." It beats this diet and that diet and it is a lot more fun! Both are good hand-in-hand to lose weight, but you can't beat those aerobic tunes to get you movin! Go do it for your heart, and then for those who love that heart!
